Paula Krawus invited to Langara College
The evolving landscape of human rights law and the duty to accommodate continues to be a critical topic in Canada. Various legal frameworks, including employment and labour law, intersect with human rights legislation to shape workplace policies and protect individual rights.
On February 12th at Langara College, Paula Krawus delivered a lecture on the intersection between employment law and labour law, the overarching principles of the BC Human Rights Code, and the ongoing dialogue surrounding equality versus equity. She also examined the duty to accommodate; employers have a duty to accommodate employees with disabilities to the point of undue hardship, a standard that varies depending on the employer’s resources and circumstances. Her talk gave useful insights into how organizations can create more inclusive and supportive environments.
